Silent flight!
The feathers of an owl have a soft, velvety texture that helps in absorbing the sound frequencies produced by wing flapping. This absorption reduces the noise that prey can hear, making the owl a more effective predator.
The short-eared owl is one of the most beautiful birds I have ever photographed. This time this bird put on an amazing show for us photographers. I loved the way it kept flying around us, giving us ample opportunities to capture the perfect moments! I am eagerly looking forward to the next time I can photograph this incredible bird again.
